Winter Blues (or something else...)

Hollow
empty
Nothing
darkness
One Road
no end
Cant Stop
a cliff
An Edge
endless drop
Falling
forever

Purim

It's when the sun is
bright
and the air so cold,
a day that appears
suddenly
and is afterwards
soon forgotten,
yet it's the happiest
of 365,
a day to
rejoice
for we have
survived,
the day you and i
know as
Purim

Breaking Free

Try to find me
But I’m not there
Reach for me
But grasp thin air
Touch me
And I’ll disappear
Cage me
It will be
Like I was never there
Just a figment
Of
Your imagination

Roller Coaster

Have you ever

Been On a

Roller coaster

In freezing rain?

Do you know

What it’s like

To have

Hail

Falling

Like stinging bees

On your face

And cold wind

Pushing against you

Like a moving current

That wants to

Pull you

Under

You’re breath

Is taken away

And your heart

Pounds

Against your ribs

Hard

December

December

Dark early mornings

Sometimes the sun comes out

And sometimes it gets stuck

Behind grey clouds

People are bundled up in down

Holding steaming mugs

It’s another day

Of Montreal winter

I never liked the winter

Hated the cold

The slush

The ice

But the first fall

Of snow

Always takes my breath

Away

A white blanket

Of fallen crystals

So beautiful

So soft

I forget to hate

My gloves come off

Fingers reaching

To hold

Delicate little figures

I am transfixed

And sad at the same time

In a few hours

Pure white

Will turn in to

slushy grey

one day

A regular day
Early and bright
Ready to go
Ready to start

A step in the day
And already there is
Something
That makes her heart
Stop

She tries to pretend
To make as if not
To go on her way
Ignoring her heart

But visions
Intrude
And she can’t forget
The missing piece
Torn from her heart

Spirit Remembered

New born
Filled with life
Children gather round
Happiness all around
The sun shines strong
And everyone is joyful
Yet no one sees
Dark clouds
Waiting…
Days pass And weeks
People start to take for granted
What they have just been given
They do not notice
The clouds approach
And yet they wait
For the precise time
And it comes
The sun is gone
Darkness fill the sky
Left alone
No one is there to watch
As a life is taken
A life that has just been given
And as the clouds pass
No sun appears
Rather sadness and anger
Fills the night air
